Meeting in Poland

The second meeting in Poland 14-III to 21-III- 2015

That was the fifth meeting of young people from Poland (Gymnasium No. 3 in Lebork), Turkey and Italy under a Comenius project which started in September 2013. The project is part of the European Programme for Lifelong Learning, Applied Ethics and Moral Values in Europe. Project partners are schools from Turkey and Italy. The Turkish school is located in Samsun-Çarşamba, Northern Anatolia, on the Black Sea, while the Italian school is in Lentini, Sicily. The visit lasted from 14 to 21 March, 2015.

This time, four students and four teachers came from the Italian school and two pupils and three teachers from Turkey. The students lived with families of students from our school. The whole week has been full of activities: the celebration of the Patron of the School, a trip to Gdansk, design workshops, Kashubian dance lessons, a Polish evening with Polish food and karaoke, and Spring Day beating the Guinness Record in the 'Belgian' dance.

At first, it was hard to communicate in English, and then it was hard to say goodbye. In May a last meeting in Turkey will sum up the two-year project, which aims to break stereotypes, exploring history, culture and moral values in the partner countries. New experiences await us; new friendships linger in the memory. We really enjoy ourselves.
